What shall we do today?

Welcome to Whitby Sands Holidays!  Whether you're organizing a family getaway or romantic retreat, this is the ideal starting point to discover everything Whitby and its surroundings have to offer. With stunning 'blue-flag' beaches, the beautiful Pannett Park, historic ruins, a bustling fishing harbour, and picturesque piers, Whitby truly has it all! Explore unique shops, enjoy delightful coffee spots and restaurants, and don't forget to savour the famous fish and chips!

Wander along the charming cobbled streets, tackle the 199 steps to the renowned Whitby Abbey (access by car and the Whitby Town tour bus also available!), and the beautifully unique St. Mary's Church. While you're on the East Cliff, why not stop by the Whitby Distillery to sample their exquisite beers and spirits, or just drink in the views! - the Cleveland way passes right through Whitby and offers stunning coastal walks.

The harbour offers boat trips for pleasure or fishing or why not try your hand at 'crabbing'.

Get on your bike and ride (or just walk) The Cinder Track, which follows the path of the former Whitby to Scarborough Railway across the impressive Larpool Viaduct to Hinderwell, Robin Hoods bay, Ravenscar nature reserve, or all the way to Scarborough!  Speaking of Railways, ride out of Whitby Station on the North Yorkshire Moors Heritage railway in stunning countryside to Pickering, stopping off at Grosmont or Goathland (TV Heartbeat's Aidensfield).  Or make main line connections  on the Esk Valley Line running through beautiful North Yorkshire countryside and villages, from Whitby or Grosmont to places such as Durham or Newcastle.  Our bus services to Scarborough, York and Leeds are also known as the most scenic in the UK!  The beautiful towns and villages of Staithes, Saltburn, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough are within easy driving distance
